<description>Jill, margaret, Gina, all of those ladies are WONDERFUL, I have just weened my son, he is 2 years old and can already count from 1 to 20, seriously! My husband and I am relieved that I made it through and it was because of a strong start by these strong women, I wish them all of the best and I love them with all of my heart, My stomach is flat and firm and my 6 pack is starting to show.. and its because they told me to start sit ups the day after giving birth and because i didn&#039;t have a c section, i could do it! I am 20 pounds lighter than i was before i got pregnant and my classmates say that i look like i did in high school, I am so satisfied, and i recommend midwives to ANY woman who is looking for a birth experience that is the way that god intended. My son, is very intelligent and if the studies are correct, i already have proof that he is advanced in his intelligence, and no it was not easy, but, the satisfaction that i feel from giving birth on my own terms is priceless.

Also, my husband didn&#039;t support me in the beginning for having an all natural birth, he had never heard of such in this day and time, but since he has experienced this, he fully supports me and seems to dislike those that have chosen the unnatural route, so i think that this whole experience has strengthened my marriage and given him even more of a reason to admire and adore me! Just a few thoughts for my ladies... Life is wonderful!

God bless,

<description>Deployed dad shares in child&#039;s birth
I would like to share my recent experience at the Midwife Group and Birth Center here in Savannah. January 23rd I gave birth to my first son, Jacob, while my husband was deployed in Al Asad, Iraq. With the help of a nonprofit organization, Freedom Calls, and the midwives and nurses at the birth center, my husband was able to view and participate in the entire birth process through a live video conferencing call over the internet. Not only was my husband able to share the birth of our first son, but I was also able to receive his support during labor.
The staff at the birth center spent hours arranging the technical details so that this video conference was possible. In fact, one of the nurses, Heidi Longenberger, allowed us to use her own personal computer.
Throughout the course of my pregnancy, the staff of the Birth Center provided much needed support and encouragement. I could not have asked for a more comfortable and warm environment for the birth of my first baby. My midwife, Jill Whitfield, will always hold a special place in my heart. Her expertise and patience guided me through this special experience. My family and I will always see the Midwife Group and Birth Center as more than just a health facility. To us, it is an extension of our family and a place of special memories that have given our son a great beginning to his life.

		<description>Hello ladies!

I have to say there are tears still streaming down my face at this moment after reading the article and seeing the video of your story. My husband will be in Afghanistan when our baby comes in late July or Early August. I am SO RELIEVED that I chose to deliver with a midwife at the birth center, because I don&#039;t think a hospital would have cared enough or been able to arrange this for our baby&#039;s birth as well, at least that&#039;s what I&#039;m praying we can do. At my first visit to the Birth Center at the orientation, I completely lost it and started sobbing in the middle of the tour of the facility because Jill was explaining how the Daddy can snuggle up with the laboring mom and be as close to her as the want... I was fighting back tears so hard I pretty much exploded and I was so embarrassed. Jill came up and put her arm around me and asked what was wrong, and all I could manage to say is &quot; My daddy is going to be in Afghanistan.&quot; She told me about Heidi Thiry&#039;s plan to web-cast her delivery to her husband, and instantly my most painful dilemma so far with my pregnancy melted away. I can&#039;t wait to have my baby at the Birth Center, and I hope Matt (my husband) can experience the same thing Jeremy Thiry did in seeing his child be born fromt he other side of the planet. It&#039;s incredible and makes me so happy. Congratulations to Heidi and Jeremy and baby Jacob, your story is remarkable and has lifted my spirits tremendously.
